Infrastructure Integration

Overview

This infrastructure integration creates a continuous runtime flow analysis of your microservices w.r.t the processing of personal/sensitive information. The runtime analysis of the infrastructure integration complements the static code analysis from the source code integration and helps Relyance identify vendors and service connections to paint a complete picture of the “operational reality” of your environment.

Why is this integration important?

This information typically helps Legal and Security teams understand services/components connected to other services/components + third-party vendors and data types that are potentially exchanged.

From the infrastructure integration, we specifically look at the following data points:

  • Logs: We look for HTTP endpoints in logs to help identify possible vendor/service calls.
  • Metrics: We look for potential third-party vendors in metrics generated by infrastructure tools.
  • Traces: These help us identify potential service-to-service connections and also the type of data that flows between the micro-services.
  • We do all the metadata processing inflight and bubble up the information in the UI.

Relyance AI has out-of-the-box integrations available for several vendors and will provide step-by-step instruction guides for all applicable vendors.
