Regional and Jurisdiction SLA Reference
Audience: Legal, privacy counsel, admins configuring workflow deadlines
Not legal advice. This is a market-standards reference to help you configure workflow deadlines - not a substitute for your own counsel's determination of what your organization is required to do. Privacy law changes frequently; treat every deadline here as guidance to validate against current law, not settled fact.
Relyance tracks a statutory deadline per request, surfaced as "Time Remaining" on the request list and dashboard, based on the jurisdiction assigned to the request. This reference groups common jurisdictions by their statutory response window as a configuration starting point.
This is a reference, not legal advice. Privacy law changes frequently and each entry below should be confirmed with counsel before you rely on it to configure deadlines or make representations to a regulator.
Deadline buckets
| Bucket | Typical deadline | Example jurisdictions |
|---|---|---|
| Strict | ≤15 days | Chile, Argentina, South Korea, Brazil |

| US Standard | 45 days (extendable by an additional 45 days) | CCPA/CPRA, and the majority of other US state privacy laws (VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, TDPSA, and ~15 others) |
| Longest | 90 days | Iowa |
| Flexible / undefined | No fixed number | Japan ("without delay"), Singapore ("reasonable" time) |
How this maps to workflow configuration
Each workflow you build is scoped to one or more jurisdictions (see Admin Configuration Guide). Set the workflow's deadline configuration to match the statutory window for the jurisdiction(s) it covers, and use the Global workflow's deadline as your most conservative fallback for any jurisdiction you haven't explicitly configured.
Use the dashboard's "Overdue" metric and the request list's "past deadline" filter (see Audit Logs, Troubleshooting & Reporting) to monitor SLA compliance on an ongoing basis, and turn on workflow-failure notifications so a stalled request surfaces before its deadline passes.
