# Business Atlas - Overview

**Business Atlas** is a powerful feature that enables Relyance customers to organize their privacy data in a way that better aligns with their internal products and organizational structure.

A company may have multiple business entities, and multiple internal products that correlate to one or more of those business entities. Additionally, each internal product will have one or more processing activities associated with it.

Business Atlas allows Relyance customers to configure and view their privacy data according to those internal products and organization/business entities, which is the way that most privacy professionals think of it. This enables a richer multi-layer mapping directly in the Relyance platform, allowing customers more targeted visibility into their personal data processing and flows.

All of these changes permit new views of your privacy data that make it easier for privacy professionals to understand, review, and discuss their privacy data, even if it comes from sources that are traditionally difficult for non-technical users to understand, such as source code.

Business Atlas allows users to:

1. Define their organizational hierarchical structure.
2. Define internal products and map them into that organizational structure.
3. Assign and associate processing activities, services, vendors, and integrations to the organizational structure and internal products.

This means, for example, that a privacy owner trying to understand why an esoterically-named microservice detected via a Relyance scan is handling certain privacy data types will not need, as a first step, to ask engineering what that service is for; the previously-configured Business Atlas will show them which internal product and business entity it is part of. Similarly, a privacy owner could easily show all privacy data that relates to a particular business entity, or internal product, making review with internal teams or auditors easier.

### Product, Services & ROPAs

The Internal Services & ROPAs module will change name to ***Products, Services & ROPAs***. It will now display business entities and internal product mappings by default rather than a list of internal service names.

Internal services will continue to be available in the list by checking the box **Show Services**; however now they are presented hierarchically.

### Universal ROPA™

Universal ROPA™ will now support pivoting by business entity and internal product.

### Visual Maps

The various visualizations of the Visual Map can now be filtered by product.

### Inventory

The Inventory now shows the business entity and product mapping for each vendor and service.

### Vendors (TPRM)

Vendors (TPRM) cards will display the business entity and internal product mapped to them. Previously, an internal product was noted on a vendor card only when it was defined in the source code integration .yaml configuration file.

New fields have been added to the Product, Services & Ropa and business entity detail pages, summarizing metadata detected by Relyance for that business entity or internal product, including:

- **Organizational path** - a display of any associated upstream business entities or products in the hierarchy, derived from customer’s configuration
- **Vendors** - any vendors associated with the business entity or product, derived from customer’s configuration
- **Services** - any services associated with the business entity or product, derived from customer’s configuration
- **Location of Data processing** - an aggregation of any associated vendors’ locations of processing
- **Processing activity description** - a description of the processing activity assigned to the business entity or internal product and for any associated vendors’ processing activities
